This MEP wish has been one of mine for going on 4 years now. When involved in BIM coordination the connection flanges and intermediate supports for larger rectangle duct work are not an option in REVIT. These items are a HUGE headache when the field people start installing and end up with many clashes with these flanges. General Contractors often sit back and force the mechanical contractor to fix these problems because the flanges didn't show up in coordination.
The connection flanges vary from 1" to 2" and should be part of the length of duct. Standard duct lengths for larger rectangle ducts vary from 44.25" to 60" long. Intermediate supports are usually 2" angle iron all the way around the duct. These items take up 4" of attic space show they really need to show up in the model.
