I am using Civil 3D 2012

My image is shifting in my viewport window. I have xrefed a .jpg image into my base file which is intern xrefed into my drawing file. The image is lined up perfectly in model space, the viewport image has shifted, what could be causing this? HELP!!

Thank You.

your viewport is not in PLAN view....
or a non standard UCS has been created

As there doesn't appear to ba a solution provided in the discussion the link points to?
Is linking to a cross posted problem really any help?

Perhaps the moderator will remove the cross posted problem and the link to it.

Is linking to a cross posted problem really any help?It shows this is not an isolated problem.

I could do that, but I felt that the extra exposure in the Civil 3D and Geospatial forums warrant this slight violation of the cross posting rules.

That does not seem to be the issue, have you heard of this before? I have used Civil 3D 2011 and did not have this problem.

I have the same issue. SID image clipped to needed size and viewport not rotated.

Tried all the "fixes": -vp, VIEW perspective on/off, PLAN, everything. No change.

Please send me the file to examine to my email address.

DWG attached.

Image will be too large to send, even zipped. You could get it off of the US Geospatial Gateway though. (FSA MrSID file, Polk County, MN.)

Does this also happen IF the image is added through MAP workspace?

Also can you provide a direct link? I grabbed some SID file(s) for POLK county however the file names do not seem to align with the ones in your file as posted.

I use Raster Design to attach the images, not MapConnect or MAPIINSERT. I can't really provide a direct link to the file since its downloaded and attached. The USDA/NRCS site only has download options, not link to options.

Its not a Raster Design issue, looked at that. Its not a coordinate transformation issue because in model space the image is on the correct coordinates.

The link I was asking for was exactly where and on what site you originally acquired the image from.

Is your view set to Othographic or Parallel projection?

Link to USDA/NRCS site: http://datagateway.nrcs.usda.gov/

View is set to Orthographic (PLAN) projection (looked at that already).

I've seen this issue also. User had 2 viewports on the same sheet layout, image was shifting when plotting. The viewports showed the same image, but different sections of it, when plotting both viewports would show the same area of the image. :?
