Is there a way to make a label that has a circle border that is always the same size? Right now it adjust to the text size and how many letters are in it. But i need it to be a standard size circle every where. Otherwise I have to put text in by hand.

Use a BLOCK that is a Circle instead...

Within Label Style Composer slect add BLOCK and chose your predefined Circle Block.

THAT IS COOL, IS THERE A WAY TO GET IT TO LEFT AND RIGHT JUSTIFY? AND CONNECT TO A LEADER?

yes, only that part is a little more than tricky to accomplish in a text message.

First is it the Circle you want to justify, or is it the text, or the Leader?

The text justification is set in the Label Style Composer, using the FORMAT Tab

The Circle would be controlled by which quadrant you used for your insertion point, rather than using center, or by using center, and then adjusting the X,Y offset values for the label component

for the leader you may discover that you will want a Right and Left justification version due to an issue with the use of AS COMPOSED within the dragged state.

It was the leader... Darn as composed....

Then you will want (need) to create a Left and a Right hand version for your needs.

select the Note (label)

go to properties...

at the bottom you will find Leader Tail>>select Always Hide

HUH? I am in the label style composer. Is it located there (in Civil 3d 2011)?

Not sure if you have it in 2011....
For 2012...when one selects the point labels
in the PROPERTIES window one can set the Leader Tail function
this is NOT set within the label style composer; as one might expect it to be.

is there a way to make a new leader type? So I would have straight leader, spline leader and a new leader?

Sadly.....NO

Those are your options for the automatic leader as generated by the label being dragged.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

do you have a sample graphic?

Perhaps there is another way to achieve what you are after here?

I was just hoping to have the leader swap sides without a tail so I would not have to have two styles. No worries! You have helped me with everything! Greatly appreciated!

I understand your frustration on this point. I've been confused for many years now as to why Autodesk hasn't fixed this issue yet.

I could answer this question for you. Except it steps over into an area that is FORBIDDEN by the rules for us to discuss without one or both of us being banned. So I'll stop now.
