I am Christopher Simpson, and i used to be a intern at HNTB doing visualization work. I am now a computer animation major at Missouri State University in Springfield, and I have a entire semester to work on a animation. and Since the idea is architecture related, a professor suggested that i post the idea here.

The basic idea is the creation of architecture from an idea into a actual building. The first part of the animation would be in 2D. It would be the "drawing" of a blueprint for some kind of building.

Then near the end of that part, it would change into a 3D perspective for the second part. The building would then "grow" out of the blueprint. Central columns would grow out of the blueprint, floors would scale out from those, walls and windows would float or fall into place, etc.

And then for the final part, the building would "complete" itself. The building would have grown with a stylized rendered look in the last part, so for this part, there would be textures that would appear on the building, and a environment would appear around it. The animation would then end with a realistic looking building.

The main goal of this project is to have a strong portfolio piece for when i go to apply for a summer internship, so if there are any suggestions that you have to change it that would make it a stronger portfolio piece, then i am open to them.

I think that it would be a interesting concept, however i have not yet determined what style of architecture to use or the scale or number of buildings it would have. If anyone has any blueprints or building projects that you would allow me to use for this project, Any suggestions you have on the concept would be appreciated.

Also so that you know my ability level, i have posted two images of the latest rendering i have worked on in links below
