I'm trying to create my first wall in a new project and for some reason it defaults to a -20' Base Offset and a 0' Top Offset, with both the Base Constraint and Top Constraint set to Level one. Is there any way to change this default?

look for an input line at bottom of ribbon, modify place structural wall.
the first box you can toggle to draw wall by height or by depth from the plan level.
with depth you can draw walls to extend below the plan level.
with depth you can draw walls to extend up from the plan level.
the second box sets the level the wall extends up or down
this box may show unconnected, this is where the third box can be used to set either wall distance.
set these boxes before drawing walls to use the method you need. Revit should keep this method
setting for this project. but you can always change to another method.
If you have method you prefer say by height and starting at level one, then you can make a new
template to start new project.
