We are busy experimenting with AutoCAD Structural Detailing, to see if we can relieve the pressure on the detailing part of our work. I use Inventor 2012 on a day to day basis, but the quick detailing in SD really impressed. We design conveyors & structures, including mechanical equipment in the plants. I believe the best option (according to the software merchants) will be Plant 3 D. Before we get there, I would like to know if it is possible to import a SD created structure into Inventor. I have installed the Object Enabler, and can open the files in AutoCAD, no problem. I have tried to export in AutoCAD to the sat format, and was hoping to import it in Inventor, but it seems that it is not a solid, and is not recognized in Inventor. Any suggestions perhaps ? I need to do this in an existing project to 'backcheck' the accuracy of the structure
