Link not following graphic overrides?

I have a linked MEP file with several roof penetrations on my building, that show up with green projection lines in sections and elevations. I just set the overrides for that link in the elevation view to have black projection lines in ALL categories, yet those roof objects still show up as green. Why does it not follow the overrides I just set?

You haven't already overridden the VG of the linked file have you?

I had a similar problem with a linked structural file. Turns out it was the analytical path remaining even though the objects themselves were modified by VG override. Double check all of the object type subcategories for the linked file. There may be an MEP specific setting that needs changing.
