Hi All,
I've been using Revit for a couple of years now, unfortunately on and off. However, I have managed to get Revit used on some live projects within the office and am trying to set up our standard titleblocks. I've set up an A1 sized titleblock (no problem) however there are 2 fields within my titleblock that are not functioning correctly or i haven't do it properly. The 2 fields are 'Drawing Status' and 'Revision status'.
I was under the impression that the Revision Status on a sheet would change when I add a Revision to the drawing (the revision table and revisions work fine) but this isn't the case at the moment. Same with Drawing Status, I thought the drawing status would be something I can edit via the Properties Toolbar, instead I am currently using "dumb text" for my Revision Status and Drawing Status.
Can any one help?
Thanks

What types of properties are these? I don't see them listed as available title block properties, so you must have created them as shared parameters, correct? Are they text properties or something else? What information does each property need to display?
When you create a shared parameter in a title block to use in a label, you must also add that same shared parameter to your project, and select the Sheets category, in order to have that parameter available to edit in the title block in your project.

I haven't actually created a shared parameter. I'm not sure how this would work?
Basically what needs to be shown under "Drawing Status" i.e. Preliminary, Tender, Construction, As Built and what needs to be shown under "Revision Status" is the revision of the drawing, i.e. A, B, C, etc.
Can a shared parameter work to show the above? If so, how?

If you're not using Project Status for anything else, then the Project Status field in Project Information could be used for what you call "Drawing Status". That field is already available as a label parameter when editing a title block. If you can't use Project Status, you could create a Drawing Status shared parameter, add it to the title block and that particular label, and then add that parameter into your project as a Project Info Instance Parameter. This will add an additional field to Manage > Project Info that will be populate all your sheets project-wide.
Revision Status can be created as a text shared parameter in the title block and the project, but I don't think you can tie it directly to a revision schedule. You could have the revision schedule on your sheet, but you'd likely have to manually change the Revision Status field manually on the sheet to match whatever is the latest Revision in the project that pertains to that sheet.

Thanks for your response. I have since found that there is a revision status parameter already inbuilt iin Revit 2012 - so that is one of my worries over! :-).
You have mentioned about making 'shared parameters' and 'project info instance parameter' is there any way you could give me an example of creating these or is there a video that you have come across on youtube etc that may help?
Creating parameters may be easy, although I use Revit I'm still going through the learning stage of understanding the "indepth" side of revit. So apologises for asking many questions.
Look forward to your response.
