View Full Version : Filters Duplicating

Filters have been duplicating by themselves, they keep the names plus a number, it is like when you copy and paste a wall from other project and that type already existed on your model but they are different and Revit creates a new type adding a subsequent number to the name.

Initially we only had Filters requested by the contractor for their Revit Model use.

We started adding filters when the Revit Categories where not enough to make elements looking the way we wanted.

It is difficult to delete filters, I only can delete one at a time and the list is growing.

If you have any idea of what is happening or have experienced something similar I will appreciate your help,

thanks a lot,

Oscar

Hello,

Nobody has made a comment on my question.

I am adding an image to show the warning I got when the filters duplicate,

Thanks a lot,

That looks like the warning you get when 2 people on a worksharing project each create something new of the same category in their respective local files. If they're named the same (or in the case of things like doors and windows that are automatically sequentially numbered when placing), then whoever syncs back to central after the first will see that warning.

For example a new project is started, and the first door placed defaults to #1. If both users have their own local copy of the new project, and they both place a door, that door's number is 1 in both files. First user saves, and the Central file has door 1 in it. Second user saves back, and now his Door #1 needs to be changed to #2 to avoid conflicts.

Thanks for your reply patricks.

I agree with you, I think it is related to worksharing but existing filters that have been duplicated, I checked and there is no difference between the two filters.

Thanks,

I have seen that same behaviour with filters. And I know for a fact that it was not two people creating filters with the same name at the same time.

I haven't found a solution to it, sorry to say.

Thank you, at least I know now I am not the only one who has seen this problem.

Hope we can find how to fix it or if we are doing something wrong that makes the filters behave that way.

Thanks,
