We working with a consultant that works in AutoCAD so we are using their dwg as an underlay in our model and setting the lines to a halftone so they don't print dark. However, if one of their line is lined up ontop of our line, his line that is 50% gray will block my 100% black line that is generated by the revit model. Why doesn't revit choose the darkest line? Is there a way to set his to transparent?

Edit: Actually I seem to be seeing this more with our Filled Regions getting wiped out by their lines.

You will find this should only happen with 'drafted' elements in our Revit file. Model lines and detail lines will be 'overlaid' by the CAD file. Any modeled geometry should take precedence over the CAD underlay.
AFAIK the only way to override this is to set your view to wireframe. The only way to 'prevent' it is to avoid using drafted elements in your views.;)
