Hi
I’m sure I’m blind to the obvious, but I can’t see a way to copy the dwg export settings to another project either within the export setup dialog or in the ‘Transfer Project Standards’ list.
What am I missing?
Cheers

To half answer my own Q, it appears it's listed under the Transfer Project Standards but which option? It not exactly clear. I don't really want to import all the settings.

Not sure what you mean by "which option".
When I go to Transfer Project Standards, I only have one line that says:
DWG/DXF Export Setup Settings
You can Uncheck everything else, so that DWG Export is the only thing you bring in, but it is all or nothing within the DWG Export.
I guess you could break it down by Layers vs Lines vs Patterns, but I don't see where it would be useful to not do all of the DWG settings

Thanks for the reply.
The confusion is because I don't have 'DWG/DXF Export' listed in the 'Select items to Copy' of Project Standards Transfer.
I’ve tried transferring from projects created with different templates, even from other disciplines (Struct, M&E), but none list it.
I’m scratching my head :(

You are using 2012, aren't you?
This changed between 2011 and 2012.
In 2011, there's a text file that holds the settings. In 2012, you have to use TPS.

You save out your settings in the export dialog box, then load these into your other project.

Scott, are you talking about this?
I believe that lets you change settings, but it doesn't write the file out anywhere.
Dave, I also uploaded a screen shot of my Transfer Project Settings.
No idea why you wouldn't have that. I'm in Revit Architrecture, but that should me that same from MEP And Struc. Both your projects are in 2012, right?

This is 2 months later, but to have the option to transfer the project standard, you can't be using the "<in session export setup>" as your only export setup. you would need to duplicate it and have a name for it. Then when you try to transfer it to another project, it should have the option for "DWG/DXF Export Setup Settings"

DWG export settings are transferred via Transfer Project Standards. You must use "New Export Setup" in the transfer-from file. If no named setups exist (only <in session export setup> exists), then the option for DWG/DXF Export Setup Settings in Transfer Project Standards will not exist.

Just to add to kowen's point, I found that I needed to generate a new export setup in the destination file as well before the DWG Export option would appear. I'm using Revit 2013.
