Hi Guys,

Were working on ID detailing works. Does anyone here already used a field region as the wall finishes on elevation view? I tried this and put a finishing code and its working, but when it come to scheduling its not possible. Can any one share a tricks if this one can be scheduled? Please refer to the attached image.

Looking forward for any help.

Kind regards

Did you try the Split Face command? After splitting the face you can Paint with desired material and those materials can be scheduled. Note that the painted materials won't report a volume, just area. See attachment.

Split face yes, the problem is it will affect the exterior elevation view of architectural drawings where joint of splited wall is visible unless you clean them up using jlinework and set to invisible.

In Revit 2012, you might try using Parts, then Divide the Parts and apply different Materials.

You can then Schedule Parts to get Area of the different Materials.

Are you sure you're thinking about the Split Face tool?
This one (attached)?

I'm guessing you're thinking about Split Element, which actually makes two walls
The Split Face tool in conjunction with Paint only affects one side on the wall.
