Hi,
I am not able to copy or insert detail from other file. It shows some error. Please find attached file to see error. if i am going to copy one by one elements then it can paste. But however the whole detail cannot paste or insert. can anyone help on this.
I am using revit structure 2012 and the reference file is in Revit structure 2011.
Thanks in Advance.

I've seen many causes for this error but if you can successfully copy the elements one by one, then it is likely having troubles with the relationship between two elements.
You may need to remove constraints locking elements to one another.
Select everything within the originating detail and filter extents, then remove them and try re-inserting.
The exact cause of the constraint issue can be difficult to track down but in my experience it is usually due to varying family versions in the originating and new file. Unfortunately the specific variation that tends to cause this is not something that Revit recognizes and interprets as two different families, so even if you load the same family into the two files, one of them remains the old version. A workaround for this is to make a noticeable change such as adding a detail line to the family, load it into both files, then remove the detail line and reload into both files (I know its lame but it will work).
For these conditions where I've enountered the variation, it is typically caused when reference planes have been renamed, recreated, or when the plane's "Is reference" value is altered.

Thanks for your thought!
I found that the shared box uncheck in particular family then that family not able to copy/insert. after selecting shared option in family parameter, I am able to copy it. but still not able to copy the whole detail and this happen for particular project. so might be happen that in Revit is there any option I accidently changed. but I don't know what!!!
but yeah I got temporary solution... :)
Thanks again!
