Hi all

I just want to know that if I can have a link between the schedules in Revit and Excel. I exported a room schedule to excel and now i have the datas changed in excel. Can I import it back into Revit and have the model updated automatically

Thank You

Yes--but you must use some "extra tools".

1. Autodesk's DB Link (you can download it from Adesk Subscription site.)

2. 3rd party app, such as Ideate's BIM Link ( not free, but very powerful.)

These tools allow you to push data bi-directionally from a database such as Excel or Access
with Revit.

Another "global" method is to export to ODBC from Revit, and open the table in Excel.
This exposes the entire Revit project's data.

cheers

Thank you so much

I have just downloaded the trial for Ideate's BIM

ODBC seems to be complicated to me. The help file isnt very informative regarding this. Could you please provide a hint on how to Export ODBC to Excel

Thank You

Try the CTC Revit Excel Link. It does just about everything Ideate BIMLink does at a fraction of the cost. This isn't an advertisement. Just honest feedback from somebody who uses it.
