I updated a project recently and the new saved version will not open. Instead, I get the message, "An attempt was made to access (Project Name.rvt) past its end." The file does appear in the preview of the open dialogue menu. Also, the file size is unexplainably double of the previous saved version. Is this a Revit issue? System issue? Can the file be recovered?

I would call Revit support before trying anything else. They will probably ask you to email a copy to them. They can often fix corrupted files if they haven't been altered too much after the initial problem occured. Good luck.
If you have an opportunity to go to a recent backup (perhaps in the previous version) please do.
At the same time, please send us (RevitSupport@Autodesk.com) the corrupt file.
