I created a set of stairs using an extrusion. Now I want to use the Railing tool to put a handrail on the stairs but I can't figure out how to tell revit I want the rail to be at sloped to the stairs instead of just straight out. How do I offset the heights. It has a base constraint but that changes the whole length of the rail.
Thanks

Host the rail to the stairs.

It sounds like the stairs were created as an in-place family? i.e. not with the Stair Tool?
If that is the case, the railing may not "host" to the in-place family.....
Perhaps try using the Stair Tool instead--maybe a Monolithic Stair.
Maybe you can post an image or example so we can see what you are trying the do.
