Can anyone tell me why, when I select a stair run and change the tread width from 11" to 9", the stairs remain at 11"?
I know it's a poor design at 9 but it's not my idea. I can't get the treads or risers to change.

Yes Cliff this is where I made the adjustment and nothing changes.

Yes--You have to set the tread depth there, then go back and edit your stairs manually.

Or finish the sketch with the new setting for the depth of treads, even though the spacing will not change, and then, start over, make a new stair. Now the spacing will work with the new setting. The stairs tool works with the last setting that was completed. It just cannot be changed during the sketch.

Slightly off topic, sorry. There is only one place where the building code only allows 9" treads. That's on guard towers for detention occupancies. Everything else is 10 or 11 minimum. Is this for an existing building? If not, you may want to push back on that "poor design" choice. Just a thought.
