My client has asked for a render with the roof peeled back.
Roof construction is Standing seam roof on insulation, on metal profile roof.

Is this possible in revit.
I know in structural floors you can load profiles. Which seems easy enough. I thought I could load the standing seam profile that is in revit as it looks perfect, tweak it to be used as a roof. No, not possible, all sorts of errors.

Why is this option not avaliable in the roof.

Very easy using these profiles for the detailing.

Would be great to get some feed back/help on this as not much luck on my last few queries with no feed back at all, yet plenty of views..

In-place model?
You could sweep the profile of the standing seam over the roof, then array it across, using a void to cut it away where you want it "peeled back".

Sound, but before that, the standing seam profile in revit won't load. Its labled as a profile yet saved in details. . When loading mesaages appear. So need to walk before I run.

If it is a detail component, you cannot use it for an in-place model. That is correct. You have to create your own profile with the standard Profile template. Open the detail component and a new profile family. Copy-Paste the lines from the detail to the new family. Adjust as necessary. Will that work?
