I created a new family extrusion and I am able to see it in plan, elevation and in section. When I go to my 3D view it is not visible. I tried going into the visibility/graphics and the family is checked off. Hoping someone can help ...

That's pretty tough to diagnosis without the family. You might look at the visibility dialog box within the family editor. You can decide what views it shows up in. It 'could' be that its set to not display in a 3d. By default it should show. Then again it could be about 50 other things. Check Course, medium and fine views as well. It would be helpful if you could paste it into a blank revit project and upload it and someone could probably look at it for you.
