trouble importing families from sites

I've used revit for a few years and never had this problem. I've downloaded a window, I click the download and i'm prompted to select a program to open the file with instead of Revit just opening the file. I'm propmted to select from a bunch of "windows" programs....any suggestions. I recently uninstalled my 2010 from my computer but kept 2011 and 2012.

In the past i would simply download file and it would open in Revit.

The removal of the one version of Revit may have deleted the file associations that Windows uses. You can re-associate Revit file extensions (rvt, rfa etc) with Revit by selecting the Default Programs icon in the control panel.

thanks i figured i did something on the uninstall
