On a workstation I can:

1. Ping the Revit server by IP and hostname
2. Open the Revit Server Admin in a browser
3. Specify the Revit server in Revit. (acts like it's connected)

What I can't do is browse to the model. It will open the Revit server in the open dialog, but when you click on the "Revit Server Models" folder it locks up and gives a connection error, and when you go back to the "connect to revit server" it's no longer connected.

This is our third iteration of Revit server and we've always had these hiccups, and this one feels very familiar to what happened 10 month ago on our first install, but I can't remember what the problem was. We have gone through every list of troubleshooting, we can find.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
James

Is the revit client connected to a Revit Central Server (RCS), or a Revit Local Server (RLS). If it's connecting to a RLS, switch it to the RCS. Definitely check the Revit journal, which might give a hint to the cause.

Furthermore, verify that you can access the Revit Server Administrator from the RCS, i.e.
http://revitlocalserver/revitserveradmin/

You can also log onto the RCS, and run netstat at the DOS prompt to verify that the RLS is connected and talking to the RLS on port 808.
