View Full Version : Elevation view with no plan symbol?

It seems I have a "rogue" interior elevation view. I cannot find its plan view symbol anywhere. I created a new plan view for that floor which had all elevation symbols turned on, and it's not there.

Normally if you click the crop region in an elevation view, then Ctrl-Tab back to the plan view, the elevations cut line and view depth will be visible in the plan. But for this particular elevation view, no such lines or other notation is visible.

There are no scope boxes involved. How could this have happened?

Is the extent of the elevations crop region large enough so that is intersects the cut plane of the floor plan?

Yes, it's a 2nd floor elevation and I was looking on 2nd floor plan views.

I actually found a couple more "rogue" views, one of them being a Detail section view in addition to the aforementioned elevation. When right-clicking on these views in the PB and choosing "Find Referring Views" they both said "Could not find referring object" which I take it to mean that there is no view containing a reference to these views.

How can that be possible?

The "Could not find referring object" will come up if object is hidden in the view and/or views that is resides in or if the crop region of that object is not within the overall view range of the floor plan. I have had that happen before, its really a pain in the a**.

Try un-cropping the elevation view, if it has something miniscule to do with the view range of the floor plan changing the crop region to "Do Not Crop View", the view range of that plan view will become a mute point and it should show up.

I have uploaded a few jpg's as examples:
Not Found Reference when object is hidden in it's "referring view"
Crop Region "on" and "off" to show the subtle differences.

That's all I can think of. Can you upload that area for review?
