Guys,

Little problem here, I have a simple 2D autocad floor plan LINKED to my revit project, I've added some revit dimensions to the linked floor plan, no problem here. An Autocad user has updated the linked autocad drawing in autocad. When I reload the autocad floor plan inside Revit, Revit gives me a message saying that it needs to delete the Revit dimensions!!! I say to cancel the message, the autocad file reloads itself and all the revit dimensions are gone!!! There's gotta be a way where the autocad file can be reloaded inside revit where the revit dimensions don't delete themselves following a linked autocad reload.

Please help me, boo hoo.

We have experienced this problem on a regular basis as well since we started in Revit 5.0 Our solution has been to make sure that we limit any dimensions to the linked AutoCAD file. We will throw in some Revit reference planes if needed to dimension to the face of the exterior walls in AutoCAD for instance.

In 7.0 since the link between Revit and AutoCAD seems to have gotten stronger we have to watch ourselves even closer.

If someone has a better answer, please chime in.
