If I draw a beam in one view it comes in as a structural framing member, just as desired. If I duplicate that view all beams come in as analytical beams, not at all as desired. What key piece of info am I missing? Thanks.

1. Did you use Duplicate with Detailing or just Duplicate?
2. Is there a View Template applied to either the original or duplicated views?
3. Try turning off Analytical properties in the view.

1. Duplicate with detailing.
2. I created a view template from the original view and applied it to the new view.
3. I had to turn on the analytical beams in order to see that I was actually drawing something; they are off by default.
Thanks Cliff
