Extracting details

Hi all,

Is anyone here able to extract a Revit details from existing project to use it into a new project?

Straight drafting view = yes. Live modeled detail view = no.

From the Insert ribbon select Insert From File > Insert Views From File
Like Brian said this can only bring in 2D Drafting views, 3D Detail views cannot be copied.

You may also want to transfer project standards as well. If both projects are set up exactly the same with all of the exact same content, you'll be fixing your details.

Actually, if you need to copy a 3D Detail view a workaround is to use the Extensions > Tools > Freeze Drawings to make a 2D Drafting version of a 3D Detail view, if you have that extension installed, then copy it to your other project using the above instructions!
