Doing some practice with Revit 2013 and came accross a problem which may have existed in other versions but I never noticed it.

I set up my grids and pinned them. I then placed the walls and tried to lock them to the grids but found that If I placed the walls, clicked off, then went back to lock them, I couldn't. Likewise, if I had the chain option selected, the lock symbol showed when I clicked the start and end of the wall, but as soon as I tried to move back to click the lock the symbol disappears.

So:-

Is there a way to lock an element after its been placed.
Is there a way to not loose the lock symbol while using the chain option.

If you use the align tool to align the wall face or center to a grid line, you should get a little pad lock that shows up. I believe you can then lock/constrain that wall face/center to the grid.

Charlie,

You should also be able to use a dimension to lock the wall to a grid. Place the wall, dimension it, lock the dimension, then delete the dimension. It will help you get the wall exactly where you want it relative to the grid line.
