Still working on that same campus of several buildings. I'd like to tag doors and windows by building (ie. D/A1, D/A2, etc.) so that I can separate them in my schedule. What would be the easiest way to do this?
Presently the doors and windows are tagged by type. Can I change them to "tagged by mark" easily and then renumber them?

I would think you would want "Type Mark", which obviously belongs to the "Type" of Window, instead of the "Mark "which belongs to the "Instance" of the window.
The only productive way I know of doing it (which won't sound productive) is by selecting them all in a building plan by plan, individually...that is because they have been created already. If they weren't created, as you are adding new doors to a building, I would name the first Type Mark of the door with a letter (at this point it wouldn't matter which letter, it then becomes easier later to change them from the schedules) So every other door will follow the same pattern of the name. Then I would create the first door of the second building with a different letter and so on. At this point I would be able to modify the "Type mark" a lot more productive, by just using the Schedule view
Maybe somebody will think of some other way and help you more.

Add a shared parameter to windows in your project, go to a 3D view, make the crop region so it only shows one building, set the view to hidden line and select everything, filter down to doors and then alter the relevant property of that selection of doors.
Should work.
