Can anyone out there recommend an electrical drawing software package for drawing house plans?

I draw house plans with the AutoCad basic tools.

You most defanetly don't want an electrical package per-say. You can do it with Autocad LT if needed. AutoCAD electrical is not alot of help for house plans. It is geard toward Process controls.

AutoCAD MEP is what you want. MEP stands for Mecanical, Electrical, Plumbing as used in the AEC industry. Revit also has an MEP version.
