I'm using rooms to create colored plans. Working in our parking areas, I'm having trouble with them. Sometimes they are enclosed, sometimes not. They are being very finicky. Even when they are enclosed, sometimes the color is not showing only in particular areas. Any suggestions? I've been randomly placing room separation lines hoping to isolate the problem, but will little success.

It is hard to tell without looking at the file, but I would check the value of computation height and levels. Also, the properties of the room at the options bar before placing the room (upper limit).
This article in the Wiki talks about computation height:

Thanks, Alfredo.
I've checked the things you've suggested and I seem to have it set up correctly. :(
My super-simple method of adding room separation lines until I found the offending areas worked to a certain extent. I was able to eventually enclose the area and get it to fill with color, but I still don't know what the root of the problem is.

Make sure your surrounding elements are room bounding. By highlighting the room bounding elements when you are placing spaces or creating a bunch of gradual room separation lines to enclose the space you can find the offending walls.
