Is there any way to template the Visibility/Graphic Overrides so they are set each time you link in an architectural model and it turns off all the items you do not want to view?

I would need them to work independently for Foundation views and framing views

You can do it, but you'll have to set them up for each project since i'm guessing the name of the linked model will change every time.
You wouldn't be able to do it in a template, since the link would need to be there prior to you being able to apply overrides to it.
Once you set them up, you can apply them to any view you want.
Now if you can set up view templates that will turn off the categories in the link the links visibility is based on your project view and not linked view or custom.
As for foundations vs framing, again you'll just need to set up independent view templates for each.
Hope that helps.

David...thanks for the reply, yeah that is how we do it now...I just thought I would ask to see if there was a different way of doing it...keepin it simple...and I forgot to mention it is 2012...any ideas if there are any changes in 2013 for this? I haven't heard of any though.

I don't believe there are any real changes for 2013. They did a few tweaks, but nothing that's going to make a major difference in your workflow.
