I have a large project with three phases and I am creating a site model. The site slopes from 0 to +14' and it has some connecting drives around the buildings. How can I get a Curb profile to follow the slope of the topo? Is there an easier way then creating model lines and then using them as path lines for the profile to follow? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :o

I made a number of curb pieces in the rugi library for just this purpose. Warning it is still very time consuming to place all the curbs and most likely a waste of time. What I've started to do is just model all the terrain, split it up for asphalt, sidewalk, grass, mulch etc. then pick the asphalt topo surf and move it down 6". Then on my site plans I just use lines to draw all the curb and gutter, etc. then if I need to do a rendering, i place curb and gutter models in as needed for the rendered view. if you are doing and overall site rendering it won't even be visible that you didn't model the whole thing. Note I put these model curb elements on a workset that is turned off by default.

Thanks Scott! I have the entire site topo already in and for most of the curbs using a sweep with the curb profile works great. I was wondering, when you mentioned "spliting it up", do you mean that you actually split the topo up into different portions and then made them different surface materials? Or, did you mean that you model a slab over the topo in those different areas, ie: asphalt, grass, mulch etc...If you meant splitting up the topo, how did you do it? Thanks for all the help.

This view might help to understand the site. I have a sea of parking because I set the topo surface to be asphalt. I hope to break this up with grass areas around the building.

There is a split surface tool on the site toolbar. I have used the same method that Scott has used. Here is an example I did recently.

Thanks Allen. That's what I needed to know. It looks like you ahve curbs that run up a slope. Is this correct or is it just a flat surface that looks like a curb following the sidewalk up the hill in you pic?

No curbs, just flat surfaces. Didn't have time to deal with curbs on this one.

If I drop my roads/parking etc toposurface 150mm below my footpaths/planting toposurfaces, how do I fill in the 150mm vertical gap so I don't see sky through it? :(

For a rendering you will need to add the curb/gutter sections that are visible. Place them on a separate workset so they are on only for rendering.
The alternative would be to add some filled areas using pshop post processing.
