Help! I just downloaded and installed the Revit demo from the web.
Everything intalled fine, but when I launch the program, I get
this message as soon as the main window opens up:
"An unrecoverable error has occurred. The program will now be terminated.
All of your data has been recently saved, so there is no need to
create recovery files."
Can anyone help with this? It has also occurred when I install
from the demo CD Autodesk sent me.

It sounds as though you have a hardware or software conflict on your machine. Do you have access to a different computer on which to try it out?

Yes, I actually installed it fine at my house last night. I'm seriously considering purchasing Revit for my firm, but if I can't even install it on my computer at work, well, that just stinks.
I suspected it might be a hardware/software conflict; do you (or anyone else) know of a compatible hardware list for Revit?

Start by telling us your set-up at work, O/S, processor, graphics card, etc. Then we can try to help you.
Or call 1-877-GO-REVIT, and ask to talk to client support, they'll be able to help you for sure.

I sent an email to support@revit.com, and literally within 5 minutes I got a reply asking if I had the latest video drivers. I updated to the latest ATI driver, and lo and behold, it worked!
Thanks to all who responded; I am loooking forward to checking this program out!
