Not sure if I am doing something wrong or missing a Step. But I've been adding tools to the Quick Access Tool bar. But when I shut down for the day and come back the next day all those tools are gone. Is there a way to "SAVE" the Quick Access Tool bar once I've added Tools to it so I don't have to keep doing it at the beginning of work day?
Thanks.

It's automatically saved when you close your session. So a few things could be causing the issue. First you might have more then 1 session open so the changes apply to the last one that is being closed. Second, the UIState.dat file could be overwritten or erased (C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012).

Hey there,
It is a know issue which has never been resolved as far as I know. RAC2013 has been good so far. Been working in it since it's release and I have not lost my tools yet.
(It did help to put the Quick Access Tool Bar below the main tool bar however, for some reason.)
Good luck

So I got it to work for a few days. But this morning. Opened up Revit and 6 of my tools are gone. The funny thing is, the Separators are all still there. My tool bar is below the ribbon as well. This is pretty frustrating.

Only tool I've had consistent troubles with is the Paste tool, which always seems to disappear from my QAT. I don't have very many tools added to the QAT since I use keyboard shortcuts so much, but that one Paste tool (and its associated drop-down Paste Aligned tools) always seems to go away at some point after putting it in there.

This has been the case up through 2012. Haven't worked enough in 2013 to know yet.

That's funny. The only ones I can get to stay are the Window Tools. Close Hidden Windows, Tile, etc.

On my QAT I have added:

Load Family
Insert From File
Demolition Hammer
Set Work Plane
Paste

Switch Windows and Close Hidden are there by default I think, but I moved Close Hidden over to the left of the 3D view button because I kept accidentally clicking it when I meant to click Switch Windows. And so far Paste is the only one that keeps disappearing. However I just opened 2013 and it's still there in that one, so maybe that QAT will behave itself better.

Also I have mine above the ribbon in all versions.

On my version I added the Window Tools. At least I think I did..haha. I'm not sure what the QAT is? Where is it found and what does it do?

ah I see, the QAT has been around since 2010, as it also has in MS Office since 2007. :)

Well I hate to say I give up but this is crazy. I had a few tools on the QAT for over a week. And today, they are all gone. This is more than frustrating.

....I just opened 2013 and it's still there in that one, so maybe that QAT will behave itself better...

I find that some tools always disappear from the QAT in Revit 2012, such as align, trim/extend. Also any add-in will disappear from the QAT, which is frustrating.

The QAT is potentially a very useful part of the UI.

Will have to see what happens when working in Revit 2013.
