I'm wondering if there is a way when you link or import a cad drawing to control the printing with a ctb file or to control the printing by the imported layer colours.
The issue is that we have some typical townhouse unit plans that we want to import into the set. For time sake, we are thinking it's easier to use the cad files then develop and redraw all the plans in revit.
Since there are many many layers in each of the cad files, I don't want to have to manually change the visibility/graphic override of each layer. I guess I could spend the time on the first one and develop a view template that I could apply to the others, but my feeling is that each different file might have unique layers, and don't really want to chase them all down.
When importing I know there is the option to preserve the colours, but is there a way to assign lineweights to those colours when plotting? It doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me. If not, I don't really see the point of the preserve colour option.
Right now, I'm thinking it's easiest if I create sheets in revit with only the titleblock, print the views out of cad, and stitch them together in indesign. Kinda of a booty workaround, so I'd like to find a better way.
