Congratulations and thanks to Alfredo Medina for a wonderful article in the new Augi Hot News June 2012. It shows methods to create complex hyperbolic paraboloid roofs in the style of Felix Candela. Nice article Alfredo!

Thank you, thank you... (blushing)... :)

I think the issue is labeled as "May 2012", not June. Anyway, Here's a link to the May 2012 issue of Augiworld : http://www.augi.com/images/uploads/augiworld_issues/AW201205lr.pdf The article starts at page # 10.

By the way, any suggestions for new articles?

Pretty cool. One question though: the building shown at the start of the article on page 10 shows the roof form sort of "flaring" up at each arch. Is it possible to create that with these tools?

Once the main "framework" of reference lines / splines has made the form, we could also use those same lines to extrude a profile, if necessary. I think that would take care of that edge that you are referring to.

Thanks, Scott. Did you do those Qatar pointed arches yet? :)

An important point for people who are new to adaptive components is that unless 3d snapping is enabled while placing the reference lines they will not associate to the reference points. Took me a while to work that out.
