flattening the typography

How can I flatten the typography so that the top of i aligns with the top of the pad? See attached.
I tried to add the points by editing the toposurface but it kept giving me an error message saying the points are outside the lines?

as Mike pointed out, you have a typo in your topo.:lol:
You should be able to add points to a surface, inside or outside the boundaries of the existing points. The only reason I can think of that would not permit this is if the topo has been split. Once you do that Revit won't allow points outside the perimeter of both split pieces without recreating them as separate topo surfaces.
