I think it can be done with phasing but worksets are probably your best answer

Use 'Hide/Isolate' command to hide the selected wall temporarily in any view.

Just remember, the hide/isolate tool has no effect on printing. If you permanently hide a whole category then it will not print, but if you hide just a single object, you may not see it on the screen but it will still print.
