I know that this is probably a simple question for most of you, but I can't find the answer to it anywhere in the internet, including these forums. We have sheets with a "C" and "G" that need to be listed before my "A" sheets on the cover page drawing list. I have a schedule set up for my drawing list and have it sorted alphbetically but that puts my "A" sheets first.

How do I get my list to show the "C" ones first, then "G" then the "A"s? Thank you.

One way is to create three drawing lists. One for "C" , "G" and "A". Then you place the three lists in any order you want on your cover sheet. Note just take the list you already have created duplicate two times then use the fliters to show just the "C" sheets in one list then "G" sheets in another etc.

Yeah, that's what we do, too.

Another way is to create a project parameter called "SheetSortOrder", applying to Sheets only. Assign the parameter to each sheet group as required. Have your schedule sort by "SheetSortOrder", then "Sheet Number". There is no need for separate drawing lists.

I agree. Imagine a project with 100+ sheets and five disciplines. Not fun to have five different schedules, if it is possible to handle the whole list in one single schedule.

Much simpler method is to add a new column in schedule labelled "Discipline". Assign each sheet a discipline label based on numerical order. Set up your discipline numbers to your preference. We use 10=General, 20=Site, 30=Arch, 40=Plbg, 50=Mech, 60=Elec......... Revise as your set demands. Then sort sheets by Discipline, Sheet No., and any other sorting you need. Old school method back from Revit 5.0.

I'm running into an additional issue with my sheet list. I've got a sort order column created and put in numbers and have all my sheets sorted in the way I want. All my consultants are in AutoCAD, so I figured out how I could just add a line to the sheet list and type their sheets in without creating "dummy sheets". Now the only thing I'd like to be able to do is separate them with headers by discipline. For example a line which says "CIVIL" will be listed above the civil drawings with a break between it and the next discipline. Is there a way to do this? When I check the header button, what shows is my sort order number. I tried putting in the discipline name (actually type in CIVIL) but then I can't get them ordered correctly because they are in a numerical or alphabetical order. Perhaps this isn't possible in revit yet, but if someone's figured it out, I'd like to know! Thanks.

You need to sort by multiple parameters. Select "header" for discipline.92573

We sort by discipline, then sort order, then sheet number. That way our mechanical sheets will be all grouped together in the sheet list, but will have FPPM sheets, then FP, then P, then M sheets.
