Summary: I would like AutoCAD to have the ability to create more complex linetypes.

Description: AutoCAD needs linetypes that can use entities other than shapes to shoe geometry in linetypes. It would be great if we could draw a simple shape, like a filled triangle or half circle or even use a line at an angle away from the line, and incorporate that object into a linetype. This could be similar to the Make Linetype Express tool. Unfortunately, this is one area where MicroStation has a big advantage over AutoCAD!

That's what the Make Shape Express tool does.

maybe this can give you another approach of linetypes...

Bli use custom blocks inserted on lines, arc, Plines, Circle etc..
so this will give you unlimited possibilities..such as having diffrent color for a single linetype..
easy to use and free. :)
