having issues with the corners of what should be a simple hip roof. I have modelled it elsewhere the same way in the file, and it works fine.
Anyone else have the same issue and figure out why it's doing this?

That happens when you pick walls for your sketch lines, using an offset to get your overhang, but don't run the Align Eaves tool. What happens is that it's using the same bearing point in the wall construction (outer face of wall, or face of core) and projecting up at the two different slopes. This makes the eave of the 12/12 pitch drop lower than the 8/8.
If you sketch the lines directly without picking walls or offsets, then your eaves will automatically align, but the roof also won't update when a wall moves, and you'll have to adjust your roof vertically to get it in the right place with respect to wall framing.
So you need to run the Align Eaves tool while in sketch mode. You pick the eave line you want to match, and then pick the eave line that needs adjusting. You can select to either change the eave depth, or you can alter the plate bearing height. In my area of the country, eaves are usually a constant depth all around, with additional blocking added to the top of wall framing if there is a difference in roof slope on either side of a hip.
