Block Authoring

Sometimes when i download a block i get a message that says it contains authoring elements & it asks me if i want to open it in the block editor. When i do then exit the editor it closes the drawing. Anyone experience this before?

It's because the "block" is not a "block" it's a dwg. Save the .dwg rather than opening it directly then INSERT it into another drawing so it's actually a block.
