Trying to create a framing view of a timber frame wall using the Wood Framing Walls extension. But it seems no matter what I try when I click OK I get the message:-
"The given key was not present in the dictionary."

Are there any decent easy to follow tutorials for this feature?

I believe this extension has been around for some time now, and from what I recall trying it a few years back, it was pretty much impossible to make any kind of effective use of it. The UI was incredibly difficult and cryptic to deal with. It had pretty much nothing to do with standard wood framing conventions.

We have no use for showing individual framing members like that, and neither does our structural engineer. It's unlikely it will get built in the field the way you show it, anyway.

Thanks Patrick. Don't know how these things are done in your part of the world but I worked as a carpenter for many years in the U.K., Australia and parts of Europe and I would say the wood framing is not a million miles away from that shown in the module. Perhaps facility for showing cross bracing would help. Also for the kind of projects I get involved with I found it quite helpful as it worked OK in Revit 2012. However, I found the problem occurred when I tried to modify a wall which had the framing in it. I contacted Support and this is their reply.

Dear Charlie,

This happens in the ATimberFraming module 2013 when in the project there is no Wood material.
The REX Module has a solution for this situation – a default material REXWood is created. Unfortunately it’s not created correctly, and every use of module create a new version – REXWood2, REXWood3. I have registered this issue as REX-5504 and escalated it to the development team for furhter investigation.
In such case it’s important to have in project at least one Wood material correctly defined.
For default Structural Template there is one correct Wood Material. If it is not present in the project use Content Generator to create one.

In attachment there is corrected project. The REXWood materials were set to be structural and wood type.
To clean up project completely remove all module data and REXWood2 and REXWood3. After it regenerate wood construction using only REXWood.
Best regards,
