Revit 2013 Update Release 1
Update Release 1 is not a full install; rather it is using service pack technology similar to AutoCADĀ®- based products. Prior to installing the Update Release 1, please verify that you have already installed the First Customer Ship build of Autodesk Revit 2013.You can apply this update to Autodesk Revit 2013 running on all supported operating systems and languages. Consult the readme file for installation instructions and be sure to install the correct update (32-bit or 64-bit) for your software and operating system. Consult the enhancements documentation for areas improved by the Update Release.

Hmmm . . . Microsoft Windows Vista is not listed as an acceptable OS in the Readme file. Is this an oversight?

Is there any info on downloading it in the MSP format appropriate for inclusion in a network deployment?

The steps are in the white paper, and also on this AUGI thread:-
http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?90606-Network-deployments-amp-service-packs

Also I note the process looks allot easier these days from this tutorial:-

Also you may wish to consider Project Bluestreak from the Autodesk LABs if worksharing and the cloud is a factor for the future:-

Finally have a look at File Upgrader for Revit at the AutoDesk LABs, to save allot of headaches, it should work for 2013 as well as 2012:-

This is not for Revit Architecture! This is for Revit 2013 from the Building Design Suite.

Interesting. I'm sure the RAC update will be along shortly.

Thanks Mark, the first link solved things - missing instructions from Autodesk. They left out the bit about a path & filename to create the MSP. Subtle, but vital step.

Odd that it seems there's no link to the update through the Subscription website.

File Upgrader for Revit at AutoDesk LABs does work for 2013.

Simple interface - source folder / destination folder / file types to upgrade.
Running it on my 2012 library now, will report any issues.

For those who haven't tried it, the update does work with Vista 64-bit.

When I update, I am not going to have to update all the files I'm working on as if to a new version, correct? So, if others in my office do not update we can work on the same files? I think I know the answer I just want to double check.

When you update 2013, everyone working on your projects should update too. Revit still sees the project as 2013, but there will be issues if team members are not on the same builds.

Cheers,
Jeff S.
