I'm trying to export a simple plan view, and am having difficulty with the Export to dwg feature.
When I export to Autocad 2004 DWG , it only exports the room tags. ( I'm using the default export layers file). When I export to Autocad 2000 DWG ( or 2004 DXF)- I get all the layers.

What gives? Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

I know this may sound minor, but....when you open the file in AutoCAD, you've checked that all the layers are On and Thawed???

YUP, all layers on and thawed.

the file as a 2000 DWG is 450K, as a 2004 DWG, it's 25K.

Sorry for the lack of specifics - I was just hoping someone might have had the same problem...

We've had export issues in the past, but not like that.

Are their material names within the Revit project containing 'illegal' charaters? some of the older Web Library and Rugi content has these. Names with '\' and such, when exporting to DWG, can cause issues. Ours were xref's not binding post-export & on a different project some data being 'left out' upon export.

Also make certain you're using the latest build of Revit 7. I've noticed that it seemed to effect our exporting issues.

Dumb simple model using all out of the box Revit materials\families , using Revit 7.0, Build: 20041128_2030

Is there a later one?
