How do you coordinate design options with multiple models?

Our architectural model has a design option for a bid alternative that adds to the building. This works great for our model, but the hvac model needs to add exposed ductwork just for the design option. How does the hvac model see and match our design option? How do we control which design option we see in the hvac model? Using the linked view setting doesn't seem to show design options.

There are two ways to tackle this... I personally would use #2.
1. In your model, you can setup views to display the Options VG==>Design Options==>(Option Name). In the linked file, they'll need to set the linked file to view a Specific View (see Images).
2. Setup your Design Options, views don't matter. In the linked file, they will need to set the link's VG settings to the correct design Option. (see Images).

Thanks, I was having problems getting #1 to work for me and I didn't notice the that #2 was available. I figured I was overlooking something. It's working great now.
