Anyone familiar with ArchiCAD will appreciate this tool. Simply fence around an area and only the inside contents of the box will be displayed. Would be great for tweaking building cores!

They have this now. It's called a 'section box' and it's available within a 3D view. When you first turn it on, it simply envelopes the whole model, so you have to grab grips and reduce it down to 'crop' out the part of the model you want. Not as slick as the ArchiCAD one, but it works!

Also, it is limited to views that are either shaded or shaded with edges.

We want "slick" 8)
To be more specific, we should be able to define a 'section box' in a plan view, then have it generate the new 3D view that is 'sectioned-off'. And cleaning up the cut edges would be much better as well.

Also with the section cut views in 'shaded with edges' mode, I would like to see the ends of the cut geommetry filled in.
At the moment the ends are all left open which makes for a messy drawing and can only be used for an overal cut-away as it becomes too apparent on close up cut-aways.
