now i'm using Revit for calculate quantities, how can i calculate quantities for finishes like tiles, paints, plaster, carpets .... etc? has i draw everything?
what i mean for example is when i have a wall that coated with plaster then paint has i draw it as 3 walls, one 4 CMU then one 4 plaster then one 4 paint and assign thick. & material for each them?
i asked that because that's the only method that i found to be able to calculate quantities, but it's make the building complex, is that correct or there is another better method?

This method is correct and most efficient and beneficial in the long run.

You do not need to create each layer of the wall as separate walls (as it seems you are doing?). This can be one wall with all those layers built it. Your material takeoff schedule will reflect materials built into the walls.

Creating these walls separately WILL make your model overly complex.
