I have a cavity wall with plaster on the internal face.

Is it possible to show the plaster layer in one view but not show it in another view?

Not sure if overriding the cut line styles will do the trick for you.
Is the plaster internal to the wall cavity or is it on the 'inside' finished face of the wall?

There is always the infamous "Linework" tool set to "invisible lines". Use sparingly.

If the reason to hide the plaster in one view and not the other is for phasing, I'd do the plaster as another wall in a later phase.

The purpose is that in some views e.g. 1:50 floorplan you will not want to see the plaster layer, but in other views e.g. detailing views, you will want see it.

Maybe I'm overlooking part of the workflow here. Surely this is a common requirement for a BIM based model????

Would the detail level button not take care of this for you?

I have the same issue. Detail level doesnt hide it, it just merge it with the overall wall but also hides the cavity. So far my only solution is to do it as a seperate architectural wall type and have the cavity wall as a structural wall. So that when the disicpline is set to structure the plaster wall doesnt show up.

You could use "parts (http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2013/Help/00001-Revit_He0/0328-Build_th328/1324-Construc1324/1326-Parts1326)" to do this. In one view show the wall as a "wall" and in the other view show the wall as "parts" the plaster "part" can be hidden in the view.

Am I right in saying you would have to break down each wall into parts? I'm looking for an easier way!

Yes, each wall you wanted to display this way would need to be broken down into parts.
