Material parameters

I have this simple curtain panel pattern family with glass and mullions. I would like to add instance parameters so that I can change the material of the glass in my curtain panel in my project. I have already made the materials, how do I proceed from here?

You have to create a new family type parameter using the material type and the material and finishes category. This will create the catagory in your properties dialog box allowing you to switch your materials. Once created apply the parameter to the material you want to be able to change
