Hi All,

I want to add several rows in to the column schedule for the base plate tag, Dead load, Live load, Wind Load and Seismic load for all the columns. I have added some dummy levels in my model and sticked text over them to show up how engineer wants to see. Is there anyother way to add rows in schedule?

Thanks in advance
Mitesh

the graphic column schedule is a system family, so you are limited in what you can change, other than listed properties.
do not like method of adding text over top of graphic column schedule, if a column is added or deleted then things can shift around.
I would recommend using shared parameters, create load and other info in shared parameters file, then add to each column family, be sure to instance type parameter.
Then create or modify column tag family to add load parameters, when you edit lable add prefix and break to stack and lable your loads.
Using graphic column schedule properties grid apperance change the vertical height below bottom level, to make room for your new column tag.
And tag columns in graphic column schedule with this new column tag. The column tag will move with column if schedule layout changes.

Now you can click on column tag in graphic column schedule to input loads, or you can click on a column and use properties to add or change loads.

I hate to admit it, because it's not very Revit-like, but we've added that same information in both the GCS and the Sheet view.

In the "Grid Appearance" dialog box, we increased the Vertical Height Below Bottom Level to 2 1/4"; we were able to add a tag for the baseplate in the GCS (and moved it down below the column.) We used the "Mark" parameter of the Columns for the Baseplate mark. And we added shared parameters (to be manually entered, not from analysis software) for the Dead and Live loads below that. But the additional linework needed to be placed in the sheet view. :(

We switched to a similar way dmahan listed. We create shared parameters for the columns (BP#, AR#, LOADS) and create a seperate schedule to show this info.

Thank you all of you,

@dmahan, I have created the shared parameters for all my laods and base plate and also created a new mark tag for all of them and it worked really nice. but still disappointed with GCS cuz not able to add rows. I have used linework over the sheet for them.

Thanks again

One more thing!

Is there anyway to group the columns by loading not by the similarity?
